There are numerous proofs showing that Röe Gård is situated in a district with many cultural traditions. Among other things the Stone Age site “Dammen” gives evidence to this. |

At Röe Gård you can see the remains of a landowner’s fortified homestead built during the 15th century. If you walk up on the hill behind the farm you will see the remains of a moat, a small dam and the grounds of two buildings. Archaeologists have found cannonballs made of stone, lances and arrow heads which prove that Röe Gård has had a “rough” history. From the middle of the 17th century until the year of 1909 Röe Gård was owned by the Hvitfeldska Scholarship institution. This year, however, Röe Gård was redeemed by A.P Hylander who had managed the farm since 1786. The family that now owns Röe Gård has done so since 1943 when Johan Christensson bought it from Sven Hylander. There is a lot to tell about the buildings at Röe Gård, so come to visit us and you will learn more. |
